How To Get Better Aim in Valorant

Valorant is one of the most competitive games, and the skill cap is growing almost every day. Since it is a first-person shooter, you will need good aim to be good at Valorant. To help you with that, here is our complete guide on how to get a better aim in Valorant.

Lower the Sensitivity

To get a more precise aim in Valorant, one of the first things you should do is start lowering your sensitivity. You can do this with incremental steps every week.

Two sensitivities make up your Valorant sensitivity, also called the eDPI or effective DPI. It includes the DPI of your mouse and the in-game sensitivity. The eDPI is simply a multiple of the DPI and the in-game sensitivity.

To get the desired eDPI, you should aim for a high DPI and a low in-game sensitivity because a low DPI will cause issues like pixel hopping. Aim for an eDPI of around 200 to 400, which is what most professional players use.

Get a Gaming Mouse

If you are serious about first-person shooters, getting a gaming mouse is one of the best investments you can make. A gaming mouse has the highest bang for your buck when it comes to improving your skill in first-person shooters, with most of the improvements coming in the form of better aim.

A decent gaming mouse will cost you only about $30, and you will see massive improvements in your aim. You will instantly feel a drastic improvement in the smoothness of your crosshair.

Change The Crosshair

If you have seen an esports match for Valorant, you have probably noticed that almost all players have different crosshairs. A good crosshair will have a huge impact on your aim. While personal preference is heavily involved in creating the perfect crosshair for yourself, there are standards you should know about while creating your custom crosshair.

First up, we have the color. As a rule of thumb, you should aim for high-contrast colors that stand out from other elements in the game. Colors like green and cyan are some popular options.

Up next, we have errors. It is the gaming standard to set the Movement Error and Firing Error off. You should also turn off Fade Crosshair with Firing Error. You will see almost zero professional Valorant players turning these settings on for their crosshairs.

Other things you should remove from your crosshair include the outer lines and center dot. However, you can turn on the center dot if you prefer it. The inner line opacity, inner line thickness, inner line offset, outline opacity, and outline thickness are all based on personal preference. Play around with these settings and see what you like best.

Practice Makes Perfect

While lowering sensitivity and getting a gaming mouse is great, the main thing that will benefit you the most is practice. To get a better aim in Valorant, practice as much as you can, and do it regularly. To see some drastic improvements, try out aim trainers for several days.
