Valorant is a hero-based game, which in Valorant's case are called Agents. Valorant developers regularly add new heroes to the game with unique designs and abilities. The latest addition to the Valorant Agent roster is Harbor. To give you a head start, here is a complete breakdown of the brand-new Valorat Agent, Harbor.
Overall Theme
Looking at the design of Harbor, it is clear that he has a water theme. One of the most noticeable features of his character model is his bracelet, which is made essentially out of water. As we will explain further, all his abilities are either made up of water or have something to do with water.
High Tide
Harbor's signature ability (E) is called the High Tide. With this ability, Harbor creates a wall of water in front of him. The unique thing about this wall is that you can curve it however you want. You can block off multiple spots in a plant site using this wall.
The High Tide wall has a cooldown of 40 seconds. Once deployed, the wall will last for 15 seconds. You can think of this wall as a combination of the Blaze ability from Phoenix and the Toxic Screen from Viper.
Cove
With the Cove ability, Harbor throws a small orb in front of him. As this orb lands, it creates a giant spherical ball of water upon impact. The Cove ability has no cooldowns. Instead, you will have to buy it every round.
The Cove ability has two use cases. Firstly, it can be used to block lines of sight, similar to how other smokes work in Valoran. The unique thing about this sphere is that bullets can't go through it, which means you can also use it as a shield.
Cascade
The Cascade ability is similar to the High Tide ability. With this ability, Harbor creates a wall that starts traveling in front of him. Players can hit the fire button (C) again to stop this wall from moving further.
The Cascade wall can be used for blocking a particular line of sight. It can not be used as a shield because bullets can go through it. One way this is similar to the Cove ability is that you need to buy it every round. However, it is cheaper than the Cove ability.
Reckoning
Finally, we have Harbor's ultimate ability, Reckoning. Reckoning is an AOE-style ability where all enemies in a certain radius get targeted by geyser strikes. If they get hit with the strike, they get concussed.
Once an enemy gets targeted, they get notified with a circular target on the ground around them. They have several seconds to move out of this target. If an enemy manages to get out of the target, they won't get hit. However, it will cause enemies to move out of cover and risk getting shot.
Final Thoughts
Harbor is a great addition to the game. His abilities seem to have huge potential. However, only time will tell how effective they are as more and more players start to use Harbor.
